Brass liturgical chalice richly decorated with silver and gold and finely hand-chiselled.
It features eight scenes from the life of Jesus in the Gospel.
The four scenes on the foot are as follows: Annunciation, Birth, Flight into Egypt, Jesus teaching in the temple;
The four scenes on the cup are as follows: Baptism, Crucifixion, Resurrection, Ascension.
The cup is gilt on the inside as required by the liturgy (the Blood of Christ should only be in contact with noble metal) and there are hallmarks on the rim.
It is in a good preservation state with normal signs of ageing due to its use and the period in which it was made, the second half of the past century.
